Experiences of the workplace

At Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams we greatly value workplace experiences and interactions with employers and businesses. The academy recognises modern work experience will help young people to make informed choices and improve career readiness and employability by offering multiple, variable and targeted experiences throughout their education journey.

Students will take part in a range of workplace experiences, totalling 10 days, across Key Stages 3 and 4. They will also be able to apply for additional opportunities in sixth form.

As part of the Key Stage 4 programme, Year 10 students will take part in five days' work experience in September 2027.

In addition to academy-supported work experience, with the permission of parents/carers, students may want to consider applying for virtual or in-person placements during the school holidays to further support their career exploration.

SpringpodFutures for All & Young Professionals all offer employer-led opportunities.
