Headteacher's Welcome
It is a great privilege to be able to create a legacy for future generations that is built in, by, and for Stoke.
Leading the Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams project from inception and seeing it through to fruition is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Florence opened its doors in September 2024 in temporary accommodation, welcoming our founding cohort of 120 Year 7 students. Through collaboration with the Local Authority and the DfE's Free School program, Florence has established itself as an important addition to Stoke-on-Trent's educational landscape. From September 2025, staff and students will transition into our state-of-art facility, expanding each year until reaching full capacity of 1150 students in 2030.
Florence is an exceptional academy; our founding students benefit hugely from being part of a growing academy that has established a strong culture from the very beginning with our staff knowing every child and family. We believe that every child has the ability to be knowledgeable, articulate and successful and our dedicated staff work tirelessly with students to realise their full potential instilling pride, ambition, care and excellence for self, school and city.
